The inspiration for this Hag Stone amulet, the second of this collection, is the nature of such a magical item being focused around truth; peering through and seeing hidden worlds or secrets, as well as protecting oneself from illusion and deception. Along with seeing into fairy worlds and protecting one's home from harm, hagstones can also be used in rituals of divination when you feel uncertain or confused. By using the hagstone to channel the true nature of things into your heart, it can helps guide your purpose.
Talons of an owl, a keeper of prophecy and wisdom, hold a piece of genuine topaz with natural occurring hold in the middle. While most hagstones may be formed by water, this particular stone's hols was formed by other crystals! Other crystals of ad different material grew in, around or under this topaz while it was forming/before it began forming. Those crystals fell away, be it through seismic activity or their own disintegration or replacing of mineral, and a void was left in their place. Around this void remain negatives of those crystal's faces and a few inclusions which all catch and dance with the light.
Now, with all of these inclusions and formation patterns, it's as if all around you is funneled through the stone like light through a prism and sand through wise talons; letting only the truth feed your intuition.
The owl talons were cast into solid silver and are from a Barred owl I myself found and had already passed. It was not hunted nor harmed in the creation of this piece.
Handcrafted out of solid sterling silver, this piece measures approximately 1.75" x 2.2" and weighs approximately 1.2 ounces.
PLEASE NOTE: This piece does NOT come with a chain! The talons which form the loop are large enough to accommodate a wide variety of all types of chains or ropes.
