A Classic Christmas Fawn
Bottle trees and retro Christmas deer always make me smile around this time of year... so when I came across a small, vintage plastic fawn I knew I had to turn it into something special. Cast into solid silver (with a few adjustments), I hope these silver retro-fawns make you smile just as much and bring a dash of childhood wonder back to your season.
This particular fawn features a very special stone! This stone which looks as if it holds real snow inside and is what is known as lodolite/garden quartz. Almost all garden quartz you see that features color(s) is dyed, however, this one is not!
The sprinkles of blue against the white are all natural as this stone offers a dusting of fine blue chrysocolla over the "snow". In my opinion it couldn't be better than in a piece like this and really brings to mind the classic stop-motion visuals of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and similar others.
Above this very large window of icy snow, a prancing deer greets a snowman while large snowflakes flutter through the air. The bail is large and long, reminiscent of an ornament hook.
A substantial piece, entirely handcrafted out of fine (.999) and sterling (.925) silver and given mixture of high polishes and heavily brushed finishes. Measures approximately 3" x 1.3" at widest and tallest points and weighs approximately 2 ounces.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS THE ONLY CHAIN I CURRENTLY HAVE FOR THIS PIECE! While I would have preferred a heavier and shorter chain, this is the only option I currently have. It is a 20" sterling silver chain as shown above and will come included with this pendant. If you are in no hurry, I can also swap this chain out (within reason) upon further discussion at no additional charge.
