Miniature paintings of moth visitors placed delicately below garden panes of shadow quartz. These looking glasses are not just genuine quartz with faceted panes atop, but also include unique splotches of smoky quartz and other minerals that create what look like dappled light and shadow. Peering through, these paintings are not just regular drawings - but are in fact enamel paintings. That is paintings made out of fired glass! A delicate process requiring much care and skill, but well worthwhile as the process results in a fine painting that will not weather by sun nor water.
These "glass specimens" are carried on your neck by silver, feathered moth wings carved individually by hand (no molds were used).
Completely handmade out of solid sterling silver, hung from the chain as shown above. This chain is included! And measures 20" long. They have been given a brushed/satin finish.
The piece measures approximately 49mm (including bail) by 25mm by a chunky .45" thick. It weighs approximately 20.824 grams not including chain.
