Dreamscapes..
As we transition out of blanketed tree tops, crackling fires and the nip of first frosts the ghosts of the dark days of the recently left season have been on my mind. The world around us phasing back into an awakened realm from a period of slumber and rest leads my thoughts in the direction of dreamscapes... Velvet colors, feathery horizons and billowing clouds.
Made entirely out of several layers of Sterling Silver (.925), this piece is one of classic celestial body iconography which I have long loved. For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed flipping through books of celestial imagery and gazing especially long at images of the moon and sun meeting.
This ring features a crescent moon resting on a puffy cloud with a glorious warming sunburst below. Or is it above? I've designed this piece so that the cloud is facing "right" no matter which way you wear it. The sun can be rising as the moon sets, or the moon can be rising as the sun sets. Either way, the moon and sun meet amongst the clouds.
An orb of rose quartz is cradled by the moon, and in the right light? a sharp star appears! This droplet of rose quartz features what is known as "asterism" and is a rare occurance in some stones in which a flashing star appears when illuminated.
Given a dark patina and finished with a high polish. Placed on a split double band, measuring approximately 1.2" X .6".
