Supernatural Superstitions & Lore

The term bonfire is derived from the 16th century middle English word "banefire" was a large fire in which bones were burnt. There are numerous bonfire traditions practiced for the purpose of scrying. One such Welsh practice is to examine the stones in bonfire ash for evidence of the names of those to die in the coming year.

In the same vein, many would cast a white stone into the fire to determine how long one would live. You wouldn't want your stone still visible by morning!

This ring features a piece of labradorite, both placed under quartz and cut in such a way as to produce a magnified window of glowing orange. The magic stone which holds an eternal flame is surrounded by silver branches (cast from the real thing) and place above a silhouette of the rising bonfire. If you peer into the flames, you'll find delicate silver bones engulfed in the fire!

And if you move the piece, you'll find tiny stones of moonstones thrown in and out by those who hope to see their future.

Entirely handcrafted out of sterling and fine silver. Measuring approximately 1.6" x 1.25" at widest and longest points. Resting on a double split band as shown above. A size 9, unfortunately I can not resize this piece. Weighs approximately 1.2 ounces.

Each item is individual and handmade meaning no production lines are found at Dark Fawn. In this inherent nature, each piece will feature "imperfections" as the evidence of the individual eye and human touch each piece receives; making them all the more unique, ever more valuable and filled with energy. I also offer a lifetime guarantee on the blackened patina. If in the future, the patina wears off (as is the nature of it, giving it a more aged look as time goes on), simply send the ring back to me and I will re-blacken it for free. Did I leave anything out? Please check out my FAQ!
